Architecture and engineering firm, Shive-Hattery, founded in downtown Cedar Rapids, IA in 1895 has made a move! Previously located in the Town Centre building, Shive-Hattery has leased the 31,624 square foot fifth floor just across the street in the Armstrong Center.

Until their move, the 25 member corporate headquarters staff and 55 member design staff had been on different floors. Their new location not only allows all of the Cedar Rapids operations to be on the same floor, but it will help staff improve communication and collaboration.

The space is absolutely stunning, mixing modern elements with the original tin ceilings and splashes of color. Along with beautiful design, the office is equipped with wellness rooms, showers, secure bike storage, a café style break room, a training room, flex spaces and conference rooms. If all of that doesn’t sound spectacular enough, the office also features a virtual reality room which will give the company the ability to test a space before it is built. This means that clients will be able to identify concerns with their designs before construction begins, thus saving costs on potential construction rework.
